Greetings Everyone,
Today, we wanted to actually spell out specifics of where Rachel is at, and where she is going.
Where She Is At
Right now, Rachel is cognitively all there. She can understand anything we throw at her, whether it's old memories, math problems, or other 'mind benders'. There is no question that her mind is very sharp, and so far, we cannot detect any difference mentally from where she was before this all happened up until now.
Physically, she has a challenging road ahead of her. She can make sounds, but she's not currently speaking. She can move her arms a little bit, but not enough to really manipulate anything. She can read just fine, but she can't hold a book. At this point, she can't pick up objects, or even 'high five' us. She can eat soft foods, but she's not moving her body much below her neck. She can move things a little bit, but not much. The hope is that where there is little movement, more can be built.
Where She Is Going
By November 14th, the medical staff wants her to be able to accomplish the following:
1. Be able to provide assistance in getting in and out of a wheelchair.
2. Be able to regain 25% of her physical ability, which includes standing up without anyone to balance her, sitting up on her own, etc.
3. Be 50% understandable in her speech.
4. Only require 25% help in feeding of semi-solid foods.
This will be her first benchmark, and hopefully she far exceeds it. However, much prayer, sweat, and work will be required to reach it. No doubt, she has had an amazing journey in the past month, and the chips have fallen enough for us to all get a baseline of ability, of where she is actually 'starting from'.
From this point going forward, "work" is the name of the game. She will be doing plenty of it, so if you want to mail an encouraging card, gift packs, or random objects of affection, you can do so at her new address. She has her own room, and the staff has given her the freedom to decorate it any way she chooses.
So to sum, if you are looking for some very specific things to pray for:
1. The ability to move her tongue, and verbal communication.
2. The ability to move and control her arms.
3. The ability to move and control her hands, fingers.
4. The ability to move and control her legs.
5. Faith.
Thanks for your care,
- Josh

It is good to know what Rachel's goals are and where she is right now. God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine so I'm going to ask for 100% on all the items mentioned. That doesn't seem unreasonable at all considering how far she's already come in the past 30 days.
May God bless all of you and give you strength, peace, hope and perseverance. Vicki Sherman
I want to thank you guys for being so very thoughtful and letting us know how Rachel is doing!! I know it isn't the easiest thing to keep up with, but you are doing a great job with it!! Thank you!!
Please let Rachel know that I am praying for her, that God gives her the strength and the ability to get through the next few months, I know it isn't an easy road to go through, but just know that I am praying for you and I know you have a great support system with you and that is a blessing!! You are doing great from everything I have read and so keep it up!!
Love,
Rachel Bonebright
Rachel, I am here with you every step of the way, praying daily, and believing for you 100%. I think sometimes back to the time when Marie, my mentor from His Mansion, told me she didn't think I would make it there and was genuinely afraid for me. The Lord reached down to me at that very moment and picked me up and showed me His grace and strength beyond what I could have imagined. Is He a God of 100%? Here I am... and so there you shall be. I remember they told us is would take a full cycle of seed to harvest... and, much like our giant pumkins, I expect to see "1500 pounds or the world record"....
I love you, my sister in Christ... keep your chin up!

Hey Rachel! I'm still getting lots of updates and calls from my mom....LOL! She loves being up there with you.
So...once this bronchitis of mine is totally gone (!) - I'm headed up to Lincoln in a flash! I can't wait to see you again.
Continue to keep everyone in line!
Blessings,
Em (Ryan's sis)
Dear sweet Rachel. Know that you are precious to us and to God. Why God let you have this experience is certainly unknown. I'm sure that with your determination, our prayers, and God's love and mercy, you will be richly blessed with love that heals the soul, heals the frustrations with your new bariars, and heals your body. We love you and pray every day for your complete recovery. Grandma W
Praying for you Rachel.

This is so neat. I had a chance to talk to Teresa (as in T-Tapp Teresa) about what she recommends for Rachel, so I'll be sending her a long letter.
What a joy to know that Rachel is in a place that will push her and expects her to succeed. How different that is from the hospital's prognosis!
Exited and continuing to pray!
Thank you so much for the update! It definitely helps to know what to specifically pray for.
Pleae share with Rachel how much she is cared for and prayed for. May God continue to give her the encouragement she needs during this difficult time. I hope and pray that she will be exceedingly blessed in numerous ways and that her heart will be at peace, full of hope and anticipation of what the Lord is going to do!
Blessings!
